Presenter-To-Go
Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

My handheld does not recognize the Presenter-to-Go card and shows a red cross.
You need to reset your handheld.

I can't see the M icon in the PowerPoint (MAC)?
Ensure that the "Presenter to go ppa" is listed on Macintosh HD : Microsoft Office : Office : Startup : Power point
Ensure that the "Presenter to go bmp" is listed on Macintosh HD : System folder : Preference : Presenter to go folder
If the icon still does not appear,
1- You may need to try increasing the virtual memory to say like 128MB or more. You may need to restart the mac OS in order for the new virtual memory settings to take effect.
2- Try increasing the amount of memory allocated to Presentertogo or Powerpoint by 10MB or so.
The workaround is:

1- Open Chooser & select Presenter-to-Go. Open PowerPoint, click on file menu & click on Print.

My remote control does not work with my Visor?
1- Make sure that the battery is in the remote control.
2- Make sure IR beam receive is ON.
3- If you have the Visor Neo or Visor Pro, you need to update the Presenter-to-Go to Version 1.25
4- Make sure you disable any software that uses the IR port.
5- Ensure that you have the latest Presenter to go software. The Presenter-to-Go Software/driver is available for download at www.margi.com.
.....Select the Support
.....Select Presenter-to-Go
.....Select the Software Downloads
Please either use the original email address or you may need to re-register online to access software updates.
6- If you have installed "Pocket Type" keyboard software, ensure to disable the "keyboard, key clicks, auto correct and visual indicator" options.

The notebook LCD does not display the content of my handheld's screen when it is connected to my Presenter-to-Go card through the VGA cable?
The notebook VGA pins drive a monitor and its output. You cannot input a VGA signal to a notebook's LCD using its VGA connector.

How do I remove the Presenter-to-Go software from the Visor?
You need to click on the menu and select Delete. This will allow you to delete the presenter to go software.

Can I write or edit notes for the slides outside PowerPoint?
No, it is not currently possible to write or edit notes for the slides outside of PowerPoint. This feature has been added into our "Wish List" for our future releases.

Where does the M1 cable get power?
The M1 cable provides power from the projector to the connected device. For the visor to recognize the Margi Presenter to go, user needs to connect the projector cable to the module.

2a- Tap on the menu sector of the Visor, it will bring up the Tools menus.
2b- Tap on the word "Presentation" to bring up the Presentation Menu.

When I press the Presenter-to-Go icon in PowerPoint, my MAC freezes?
You need to increase the virtual memory to say like 128MB or more. You may need to restart the MAC OS in order for the new virtual memory settings to take effect.
Try increasing the amount of memory allocated to Presentertogo or Powerpoint by 10MB or so.

I can't get the Mirror application to work with my Visor. I get the display of a blank square on the screen?
Some applications on the Visor that access the LCD frame buffer e.g. such as "Easter Eggs" can prevent mirror mode from opening. Please disable it if installed.

How do I remove a file from the hotsync bin?

I used the Presenter-to-Go printer driver to make a slide, but the slide was compressed in the horizontal direction.
You must change the printer driver to "Landscape" mode before printing. On some programs this must be done in the "Page Setup" and printer driver. You should be able to get slides that are the same aspect ratio as the original if you make these adjustments.

I am unable to install the Presenter-to-Go PC software on my computer, and I'm running Win 2000/NT4/XP.
To install the Presenter-to-Go PC software on systems running Win 2000/NT4/XP, you need to have administrator rights.

My PowerPoint presentations only show the first few slides of a presentation?
Make sure that you have enough disk space on your hard drive. You may need to delete some files to create more disk space.

Why is the .pdb file created by the Presenter-to-Go software larger in size than the original PowerPoint file?
The Presenter-to-Go PC software compression is optimized for graphs, charts and text, as opposed to photographic images. This was done so the handheld processor can decompress each slide in a reasonable amount of time. If your presentation has photographic images, textured backgrounds or any gradients, the resulting .pdb may be larger than the original PowerPoint file. If at all possible, do not use textured backgrounds or gradients. Instead use solid or simple backgrounds. Recommended PowerPoint templates include; Capsules, Straight Edge, Blends, Dad's Tie, Blueprint and Ribbons. The "slide master" feature in the latest Pocket PC release will ensure more consistent compression.

The Presenter-to-Go Desktop doesn't see my Palm Desktop users and as a result I can't queue any presentations. When I try to "Add Users" using the "Change Users" feature it says "List of available users is empty", which means it doesn't see the user from my Palm Desktop. How do I make the Presenter-to-Go Desktop recognize me?
One cause of this problem may be that the "Instaide.dll" is missing or was deleted from the directory where the palm desktop was installed. Perform a "Find File" on "Instaide.dll". Then check the path in the registry. To do this, start DOS. Enter "regedit" and click "OK". Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\Core\Path". The file named "Path" should have it's "data" be the location of the "Instaide.dll". If this is not where "Instaide.dll" is, make a copy to put in the aforementioned directory.

My Visor, Presenter-to-Go module and secondary display are all powered and connected but I cannot view my presentation on the display. When I click on the "Information" button, it says there is "No Display Detected".
This is due to a missing EDID. Either the EDID is corrupt or absent, so the module has no way to identify the display. If the display offers 1024x768 support, even without the EDID, the presentation may still run at the default of 1024x768 at 60Hz.

I can't see the file names of the files stored in the Presenter-to-Go Module?
The module must be powered to review or present files stored in its memory. Files stored in the Visor's memory can be reviewed at all times (even when the module is not powered).

When I try to use Presenter-to-Go in "Adobe Acrobat" the file output is not properly situated on the page.
Files being converted in "Acrobat" must have been originally exported to "Acrobat" with their page setup as landscape.

When I try to use Presenter-to-Go with Crystal Graphics plug-ins, the program hangs in mid-conversion.
At this time, the Presenter-to-Go compression/conversion software does not function with Crystal Graphics plug-ins.
This issue will be fixed in the next release.

The picture on my monitor/projector display is incorrect or it flickers.
The display resolution or refresh rate is incorrectly determined. Re-start the Presenter-to-Go application, for the display to automatically detect 1024.x 768 at 75 Hz or manually adjust the display to that resolution.

Auto-shut-off does not work when the Presenter-to-Go application in running.
This is intended, and done so that a presentation does not stop in the middle, or while in automatic loop mode.
