What is Display-to-Go and
why is it useful?
Display-to-Go is a Cardbus PC Card product that enables users
to multitask between applications faster and increase the virtual
size of your desktop by adding additional displays to your notebook
PC. You'll be able to see "the big picture" more clearly
with the ability to control several displays through a common desktop
location, with a single mouse and keyboard. Display-to-Go has been
adopted by numerous large enterprises as a high productivity tool.
How is Display-to-Go
different from the VGA connector on my laptop?
Display-to-Go is a secondary graphic adapter. Since it is a secondary
graphic controller, it can independently control the resolution
of the secondary display device. An example of this would be the
notebook LCD resolution is set to 800x600, 16-bit and the secondary
display device can be set to 1024x768, 16-bit. If you use the VGA
out connector on the laptop the user is always limited to the resolution
of the notebook.
What is the advantage
of the Windows 98 multiple monitor support?
The Display-to-Go drivers support the Windows 98 multiple monitor
mode. Users are able to run separate applications on the notebook
LCD or secondary display device. The typical scenario is that of
presenters wanting their audience to see only the presentation and
not the notes of the presentation. The presenter would launch the
presentation, drag it to the secondary display device for their
audience to see. Then they would launch their notes, which only
they would see on the notebook LCD.
Will Display-to-Go
support Windows 95 or NT4?
No. Unfortunately these two operating systems do not support multiple
graphic adapters.
How do I find
out the latest driver for the Display-to-Go card?
The latest driver is available for download at driver
update.

XP support dual monitor?
While Windows XP Professional supports dual monitor, the
Windows XP Home Edition does not. Hence the Display-to-Go will work
only on Windows XP Professional Version.

cinema display 22” or View Sonic 23¨¨ display to the Display-to-Go
card and reboot my system I get a black screen. What do I do?
Customers having Display-to-Go, that displays such symptoms
and whose cards are within the warranty period should return the

to get an RMA before shipping them back.
During the software installation

Pack 2, Service Pack 3 or a particular language version of Windows
2000 which is not supported by the driver.
Please do the following:
a) For Service Pack 2 Issue
Ensure that you have the latest Display-to-Go driver. A "Release"
version of our Display-to-Go driver (2.07 or higher) is available
on our web site www.margi.com for Windows 98 / 98-SE (Second

After installing the
Display-to-Go software on my Apple Power book G4 Titanium, my system
hangs when Monitor Controls” or any application is invoked.
We are aware of this problem. Our engineering department
is working with Apple to come up with a suitable solution. We do
not have a timetable on this resolution, however.
How to connect the second
monitor to the Display-to-Go card that has the same female DVI connector
as the Margi Display-to-Go adapter?
Please Contact the local computer store and get a converter.
When I am looking into the device manager it
shows a Yellow exclamation mark next to the Display-to-Go, indicating
that it has not being installed properly?
The message is likely to shown when the card is not properly
recognized by the system or the driver is not installed properly.
You need to fully uninstall and reinstall the software.
Why is 1600x1200 24bits
per pixel (3 bytes) resolution not supported?
The card is only 4 MB the total bytes should be =< 4MB
It really is that simple - width times height times number of bytes
= total bytes needed.
1600 x 1200 x 3 bytes = 5760000 or ~ 5 megabytes
Hope this gives you some direction as to which resolution shall
work with our card. For your convenience, the following table may
be useful.

Does Display-to-Go support mirror mode in Windows
98SE?
Display-to-Go driver supports mirror-mode only in Windows
2000. You need to upgrade your operating system to Windows 2000
to avail of this feature.
Why is the output to the secondary monitor Fuzzy
and full of lines?
While using intermediate connectors like a switch box, such
artifacts get introduced. You need to disconnect the Switch box
and connect the external monitor directly into Display-to-Go card.
Is it possible to view the DVD movie, playing
with the software decoder, on the secondary display using the Display-to-Go
card?
Yes. You need to select the secondary monitor as a primary
display and reboot the system and play the DVD disk.
Is it possible to view
the DVD movie, playing with Margi DVD to go card, on the secondary
display using the Display-to-Go card?
No. The MPEG / DVD video is been playing back through the
"primary" display with the support of the OVERLAY being
provided from the Zoomed Video (ZV) technology. Since the "secondary"
display (using the MARGI Display-to-Go PC card) does not support
the OVERLAY feature, hence the playback will encounter unexpected
output due to non-ZV support.
Is it possible to run
the Display-to-Go card on a PDA/handheld or PPC 3.0?
No. The Display-to-Go is a 32-bit CardBus PC card. The Compaq
Pocket PC does not have a 32-bit card bus slot so the Display-to-Go
card will not work.
How to set the monitor
to the higher resolution or refresh rate?
If the system does not allow to set the monitor to higher resolution
or refresh rate, please follow the steps below:
Start...
Settings...
control panel...
display...
settings...
select the device on Display-to-Go...
advanced...
monitor...
select standard default monitor and double click
select supper VGA 75hz...
How do I prevent my system from freezing after
4-5 minutes of using the Display-to-Go card?
Power management is not fully supported in the Display-to-Go
Software. For best results, you need to make sure that the screen
saver and any power management are disabled.
Is it normal for Display-to-Go card to get warm
while it is inside the PC slot?
Yes.
Does the Display-to-Go Video card support DirectDraw
Video Acceleration?
Display-to-Go uses a 2-D chip, and hence is not a 3D accelerator,
so if you use 3-D functions, the card will not work. The 2-D chip
runs cooler than the 3-D one and the battery drain is smaller.
How do I get perfect video from my SGI monitor
using the Display-to-Go card? (VGA cable)
1- Ensure that the AD switch is set to Analog.
2- Use the arrow keys on the Multi Link adapter to change the ZOOM
option from Standard to Wide.
3- You may reset the monitor by going to OSD General Menu / Force
Detect.Windows does not recognize the Display-to-Go card?
Display-to-Go is a 32 bit CardBus PC card. Please verify that your
notebook does have 32 bit CardBus PC slots.

v2.15 of the software, available on the software
downloads page.
