Product FAQ

Apple Titanium users using Display-to-Go 4MB

How is Display-to-Go different from the VGA connector on my laptop?
Display-to-Go is a secondary graphics adapter. Since it is a secondary graphics controller, it can independently control the resolution of the secondary display device. An example of this would be the notebook LCD resolution is set to 800x600x16 and the secondary display device can be set to 1024x768x16. If you use the VGA out connector on the laptop the user is always limited to the resolution of the notebook.

How can Display-to-Go increase my productivity?
With support for multiple monitors, both analog and digital, you can increase your workspace without breaking the bank. A larger workspace, coupled with desktop software for instant access to applications, multiple application windows, applications maximized across 2 screens spells time and money savings.

What is the advantage of the Windows 98 multiple monitor support?
The Display-to-Go drivers support the Windows 98 multiple monitor mode. Users are able to run separate applications on either the notebook LCD or secondary display device. The typical scenario is that of presenters wanting their audience to see only the presentation and not the notes of the presentation. The presenter would launch the presentation, drag it to the secondary display device for their audience to see. Then they would launch their notes, which only they would see on the notebook LCD.

What are the output capabilities of Display-to-Go?
In addition to a standard analog (VGA) connector, Display-to-Go can interface with newer digital devices. This is a very important feature of Display-to-Go. Currently there are no notebooks on the market today that can interface with digital display devices. The two other connectors that we can provide are Digital Flat Panel (DFP) and Digital Visual Interface (DVI). Both of these take advantage of the PanelLink™ technology (VESA and DDWG Standard) for digital displays.

What operating systems does Display-to-Go support?
Currently Windows 98. Windows 2000 and Mac OS9.1.
